Widi Islands has 99 islands, 3 atolls and two groups of islands which are known by the local fishermen as Daga Gane Island (facing to Gane Sub-district) and Daga Weda Island (facing to Weda Sub-district). These islands are havens for fishermen as a source of fortune for the community because it has great potential for fisheries. On the islands, there is also a lake with freshwater that is being the consumption of the citizens. Widi Islands has many tourist spots under the sea and become a haven for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts.

Access to Widi Islands

The access to Widi Islands is quite challenging because it requires a long time to reach this place. There are several options to get to this place.

*If you go from Ternate City, You can go by ship to Port Saketa, Gane Barat Sub-district with a long trip around 5 hours. Then you can continue to Gane Timur Sub-district which takes about 3 hours using ojek (motorcycle taxi). Furthermore, you can use a speedboat or longboat to Widi Islands, with a long journey of about 2 hours.

*If you go from Bacan Island, you can first go to Gane Sub-district and then continuing by speedboat to Widi Islands. For the best access, You can consult at the port.
