Lelei Island & Guraici Island is located in Kayoa region, Kayoa Sub-district, South Halmahera, North Maluku province. Lelei Island and Guraici Island are the top tourist destinations in South Halmahera, for its fine white sand, crystal clear sea, and the underwater world, which is ideal for snorkeling and diving.
Lelei Island is the entrance to Guraici Island, where there is a beautiful small dock, directly facing Guraici Island. There are several villages in this island. You can also find some typical villas, lined in white sand shoreline, directly facing Guraici Island. The islands are located on the equator, so the temperature is quite hot here. Therefore, you need to prepare sunblock as well. The majority of livelihoods on Lelei Island are fishermen, so the fish here are very cheap. You can also prepare your fishing gear when traveling to this place, because there are a lot of fish on this beach.

You can spend the night on Lelei Island because there are available cottages and home stays. The cost of the accommodation here is relatively affordable. However, the condition of the inns are less well maintained so we recommend you to check before deciding to stay on which inn. There is no restaurant in Lelei Island, so you can ask the locals to help you preparing the food. In addition, the electricity in this island still relies on a small generator which is only switched on from 6 pm to 12 am. Cell phone service is also limited and you cannot access the internet. However, the shortage makes your holidays become more focused to explore the beauty of Lelei Island and the surrounding.

You can also surround Lelei Island because it is a small island. You will find a viewing tower with height of about 25 meters. The tower is not far from the inn, only about a 15 minute walk. We recommend you to go up to the tower, because on it you can see the incredible scenery around Lelei Island. This place is also ideal for seeing the beautiful sunrise and sunset.
