Sulamadaha Beach is located in Sulamadaha Village, Ternate, North Maluku province. It is a black sand beach, but this beach has its own charm and is a favorite tourist attraction in Ternate because the water is very clear, not contaminated, and has a variety of fish and coral reefs with some rare species. Sulamadaha Beach faces directly to Hiri Island. This island composed of hills with green plants that make Sulamadaha Beach has cool breeze and beautiful.
Besides Hiri Island, in the west of Sulamadaha Beach, there is Saomadaha Bay. On the bottom of this bay, there are a marine park which makes this place an ideal spot for diving and snorkeling.
Saomadaha Bay has a U-shaped. The bay is not too wide but it gives the impression of private because there are towering cliffs with overgrown shade trees around the beach. From the parking lot of Sulamadaha Beach, tourists still have to walk for about 10 minutes to reach this bay. So visitors will not find a car parked on the beach so it really makes this beach beautiful.
The way to the Saomadaha Bay is slightly uphill and a little exhausting. But it all paid off when arriving at this beach. Visitors will be greeted with white sand and clear sea water with gradation of light green and dark blue color.
Do not hesitate to swim at this beach, the cool and clear water will make you linger in the water. Interestingly, at this beach, visitors can walk up to 20 meters into the sea because there are vast coral reefs at this beach. If you cannot swim, you can rent a float. Visitors can also rent a boat with a capacity of 3-4 people. Do not worry about the waves, the U-shaped beach makes coastal sea calm.
On the beach, there are some food stalls for visitors. In addition, there are also bathroom facilities to rinse or change clothes. Visitors can also rent shorts or snorkeling equipment in this place.
Access to Sulamadaha Beach
This beach is about 14 km from the center of Ternate and can be reached easily by vehicle or public transportation for around 30-45 minutes. In this beach, you can also cross over to the Hiri Island by using rental boats.
