Moor Island - Central Halmahera Attractions


Moor Island is located in Pattani District, Central Halmahera, North Maluku province. Moor Island is uninhabited, but it has a beautiful beach and lake.

To go to Moor Island, you can use a boat or speedboat. The distance from the island to the capital city of Central Halmahera is approximately 115 km. The island is closer from Patani District . In the middle of the journey from Patani to Moor Island, you will find Batu Dua in form of massive rocks. Moor Island is behind Batu Dua and Cape Ngolopopo which is famous for its waves. The location of Batu Dua is a haven for fishing, there are many different types of fish, even sharks. Total trip to Moor Island is approximately 2 hours.

Moor beach is covered with fine white sand, blue and clear sea water which make visitors linger on this beach. Although Moor is an uninhabited island, but there are some cottages owned by people of Patani District who is farming or fishing on this island.

In Moor Island, we can find a small and beautiful Lake Moor with greenish lake water. This beach is a paradise for anglers as well and there are many big fish. So if you are going to Central Halmahera, do not forget to visit Moor Island that will make you spellbound with its beauty.
