Forests around Mede River stores various surprises. One of them is a gorgeous waterfall named Jembatan Batu (Stone Bridge). The name is inspired by the unique shape of the rocks in front of it that naturally forms a kind of stone bridge. This waterfall is one of the attractions in Tobelo, North Halmahera, North Maluku province.
What makes this waterfall special is not on its height which only about 10 meters away, but there is another small waterfall in the same location. The small waterfall is hidden and surrounded by dense forest, that makes Jembatan Batu waterfall becomes an attractive destination for adventure lovers.
Jembatan Batu waterfall is located in Mede forest, about 6 km to the west of Mede Village. Despite being in the region of Mede but you can also go to the waterfall through Ruko Village. You can use mikrolet (microbus) with Destination: Galela from the junction on Jl. Kemakmuran-Karianga, Tobelo city. Then you get off to Mede Village or Ruko Village. Next, you need to hire a local guide to walk into the forest.
