Bobale Island is a small uninhabited island, located just a few minutes in front of Daru Village. This island fine white sand and charming sea shades which becomes a destination for divers. Bobale Island is one of the attractions in Kao, North Halmahera, North Maluku province.
Coral reefs and diverse marine life with a depth of 2-10 meters can be found in the waters of Bobale Island. The island also contains the remnants of Japan during World War II. Three-room bunker with medium size is located on coastal cliffs which you can visit only when the sea is calm.

Bobale Island is also famous as a pearl producer. In addition, there are also craftsmen who make pearl shell handicrafts for years. Ngoco is the local name for pearl shells. From these craftsmen, various pendants and earrings are made. The shells are obtained by the craftsmen by ordering from young people around the village, which usually dive for pearls in the seabed around Bobale Island up to depths of 10-40 meters from sea level.
Bobale Island is located on the east of Daru Village, Kao region (approximately 57 km to south of Tobelo). If you are hungry, you better eat first on the restaurant at Daru Harbour. From Daru Harbour, you go by motorized boat (ketinting) to Bobale Island for about 20 minutes.
